Flash crash and non-responsiveness

I've got some really wierd stuff that just started happening. I've got a Flash CS3 file with 2 scenes. Both scenes have got ActionScript 3.0. When I try to test the movie, nothing happens. When I try to switch from the last scene back to the first, Flash crashes. When I try to debug my problem, I get an error message telling me I can't debug because there is no actionscript to debug. Has anyone seen this before, or have any ideas on how I can proceed. Thanks so much for any help you can give.

I had few issues with FLA files crashing the Flash IDE, I remember solving it by 'saving-as' the file to a different location. The last time I had a problematic FLA this technic didn't work though, and I had to restore to previous version from source control. I believe the file got corrupted after deleting some assets from the library.
